  • Visit a branch in person and speak with a staff person. Proof of address, such as a driver's license or a piece of mail, will speed up the registration process.

  • Fill out this registration form. A librarian will contact you within 24 hours to complete the registration process.

Renewing Your Library Card

Most library cards need to be renewed every three years. If a library card is not renewed, you will not be able to check out items or use our online services.

You will receive an email notice before your card expires. To renew your card, you will need to confirm your card number and valid contact information in-person at any branch, by phone, or by email at AskALibrarian@washcolib.libanswers.com

Cards for educators, students, and organizations need to be renewed annually.

Replacing Your Library Card

If you damage or lose your Washington County Library card, please contact your local library branch as soon as possible. Library staff will replace your card at no cost. If your card is from another library system, you will need to contact them about a replacement.
