Where can you get tax forms and instruction booklets?

Library

  • Minnesota forms and booklets: We do not have any printed Minnesota tax forms or booklets. The Minnesota Department of Revenue no longer sends paper forms to libraries. 
  • Federal forms and booklets: We have a limited supply of printed federal tax forms and booklets. Contact your library if you are looking for a specific form or check the list of printed tax forms available at our libraries included on this page.
  • Minnesota and federal forms and booklets may be downloaded at the library from the federal or state websites. Black and white printing is $0.15 per page. Staff can assist with locating and printing online tax forms, but cannot give advice about which forms you may need.

Mail

  • Minnesota forms and booklets: Taxpayers can request forms and booklets be mailed to their homes by calling 651-296-3781 or 1-800-652-9094.
  • Federal forms and booklets: Taxpayers can request forms and booklets be mailed to their homes by calling 1-800-TAX-FORM (1-800-829-3676) or on the IRS website.

Use the links below for online access to federal and Minnesota tax forms. Print forms at the library for $0.15 per page. Staff can assist with locating and printing online tax forms, but cannot give advice about which forms you may need.

Where can you get tax help?

The Minnesota Department of Revenue can help you find a free tax help site near you. Go online or call 651-296-3781 (1-800-652-9094). These community organizations also provide tax help: 

  • AARP Tax Aide Program – Free tax prep for seniors and low-income taxpayers. This program runs from approximately February 1 to April 15. Appointments are required. Make an appointment online or by phone at 1-888-227-7669.
  • Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) – Helps seniors, people with low income or disabilities, and non-English speakers complete their tax returns. Locate the nearest VITA site online or by phone at 651-297-3724.
  • Tax Counseling for the Elderly (TICE) – Assists taxpayers 60 and older with their returns. For more information, call 1-800-906-9887.
  • Prepare and Prosper – Offers free tax preparation for low-income households. Learn more about making an appointment online or by phone at 651-287-0187.
