[ARCHIVED] Spring Jobs and Financial Aid Events for Teens

This spring, visit R.H. Stafford Library in Woodbury and Hardwood Creek Library in Forest Lake for events to help teens prepare for a job search, look for a summer job, and learn about future career opportunities. 

Teen Job Preparation Skills Workshop

Wednesday, March 20 at 4:30 p.m. | R.H. Stafford Library (Woodbury)

Develop your job preparation skills at this workshop with the Connect Center. Volunteers will be available to review resumes, help prepare for interview questions, share information about clothes and resources for interviews, and what to look for and avoid in job postings. This event is for students ages 15+ looking to expand their job preparation skills. No registration. Students and parents are welcome.   

Teen Job Fair - POSTPONED to Monday, April 29

Monday, March 25 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. | R.H. Stafford Library (Woodbury)

Visit R.H. Stafford Library in Woodbury for a teen job fair on the main level of Central Park. Prospective employers with current and summer openings for teen employees will be available within the park. This event is for ages 16-19. Come prepared to learn about available positions, apply, and possibly interview for your summer job. No registration.

Virtual: FAFSA Workshop

Monday, April 1 at 4:30 p.m. | Online

Getting ready for college and ask questions about Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Come join a virtual FAFSA Workshop as Nchai Khang, a financial aid representative from Century College, goes over the FAFSA forms and answers questions on the process and what to expect. Registration is required.

Teen Career Conversations

Monday, April 15 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. | Hardwood Creek Library (Forest Lake)

Join  CareerForce for an evening of career exploration for teens. Meet professionals in a variety of fields to ask questions about their education and journey into their field, and learn more about the variety of ways in which professionals get to where they are. We will have some suggested questions for career exploration and learning more. Visit career fields you hadn't considered before for the chance to be surprised at where your interests could take you! No registration.
