Our most popular checkouts of 2018 (so far)

bookshelf

Mid-way through the year is a great time to take a quick peek back at the most popular materials checked out from Washington County Library so far this year. The following list just includes the most popular titles in our physical collection (so no ebooks, e-audiobooks, or digital magazines). Did any of your favorite titles or authors make the list?

Adult Fiction

The librarian in charge of ordering new books has a list of authors we buy automatically because they’re so popular. All of the authors who are represented in our top five most popular adult fiction titles are on that list!

  1. Deep Freeze by John Sandford (348 checkouts)
  2. Sulfur Springs by William Kent Krueger (337 checkouts)
  3. Golden Prey by John Sandford (281 checkouts)
  4. The Midnight Line by Lee Child (280 checkouts)
  5. The Rooster Bar by John Grisham (274 checkouts)

Adult Nonfiction

Four of the books on our most popular adult nonfiction list make a lot of sense, but who knew the encyclopedia was such a popular title to take home?

  1. Hillbilly Elegy by J.D. Vance (151 checkouts)
  2. The World Book Encyclopedia (112 checkouts)
  3. Murder, Interrupted by James Patterson (101 checkouts)
  4. Being Mortal by Atul Gawande (100 checkouts)
  5. Fire and Fury by Michael Wolff (92 checkouts)

  2. Turtles All the Way Down by John Green (111 checkouts)
  3. Scythe by Neal Shusterman (107 checkouts)
