Kids' Summer Reading

Summer Adventure

Greetings from Zorb! Zorb has just come from a faraway planet and wants to learn all there is to know about life here on earth. To learn, Zorb would like to tag along with us on a Summer Adventure at Your Library!

This year’s Summer Adventure at Your Library runs June 1 to August 31, 2021. Read on to learn how to participate!

Step 1: Get a game card!

Stop by any WashCoLib branch to pick up a Summer Adventure game card. Or, download and print a copy of the game card

If you have any questions or need assistance getting a game card, contact your local branch and we’ll make sure you can get one!

Step 2: Complete the challenges!

Choose activities from our Activity Rocket to complete the game card, or create your own adventures!

Need some ideas? Sign up for our email newsletter for adventures, book suggestions, and more from our Washington County librarians!

Once you’ve filled in all 10 planets, you can enter our prize drawing and earn a reward!

Step 3: Turn in your game card!

Once your game card is complete, you’ll earn a reward book and be able to enter our summer prize drawings!

You have two options to complete your Summer Adventure, available beginning June 1:

  1. Show your completed game card to a librarian at any WashCoLib branch to pick out your book. Then drop your game card into a Summer Adventure box at your local WashCoLib branch!
  2. Submit your game card and pick your reward by filling out this online form. You'll be automatically entered into our prize drawings.

We’ll be holding Summer Adventure drawings on the last day of June, July, and August, so you’ll have plenty of chances to win.

Summer Adventure at Your Library is open to children from birth through age 11. One completion reward per child.

Don’t forget about our summer reading programs for teens and adults!

Summer Adventure at Your Library is made possible by the cooperation of Washington County; Washington County Library; MELSA, the Metropolitan Library Service Agency; and the Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund. Additional sponsors include KARE 11 and the Star Tribune.
